jazz museum free musicKids love to move to the beat of the music. Instead of the same old children’s songs, there’s a FREE way to Kansas City to expose your children to jazz. The free program is even expanding.

Free music for children

The American Jazz Museum in Kansas City offers jazz storytelling every Friday morning. It used to be just once a month but just expanded to every week.

Vocalist Lisa Henry, storyteller Brother John, bassist Tyrone Clark, and drummer Mike Warren interact with the crowd, sing songs, and play their instruments.

You’ll see babies to school aged children at the free event. The program is held in the atrium of the jazz museum at 10:00 a.m. It’s a great way to introduce children to the various sounds and jazz styles.

There are also lots of other free classes at the museum to introduce children of all ages to jazz.
